If your AEWV employer accreditation or job check application is declined

If we decline your Accredited Employer Work Visa (AEWV) employer accreditation or job check application, you may be able to submit a new application or request a reconsideration.

Why we decline AEWV employer accreditation or job check applications

If we decide to decline your application, we send you an email and tell you why.

We may decline your application if:

  • it was missing key information, for example key employment information, evidence you advertised the job (unless exempt), or pay details
  • you did not meet all the requirements for your application
  • your accreditation has been suspended or revoked during the job check application process.

If your application is declined, you can request a reconsideration or submit a new application.

  • Only request a reconsideration if you think we have incorrectly assessed your application.
  • If you submit a new AEWV employer accreditation or job check application, make sure you meet the requirements.

Request a reconsideration

If you request a reconsideration, we are unlikely to change our decision if your application was declined because:

  • it was missing information, or
  • you did not meet all the requirements.

We reconsider applications based on the information you provided when you applied. If you provide new information, then you should submit a new application.

When you request a reconsideration, you:

  • need to explain what parts of our decision you think were incorrectly assessed and why
  • must request it within 14 days of the date your application was declined
  • must pay a reconsideration fee when you apply online.

When we have reviewed your reconsideration request, we let you know by email that you can find the decision letter in your Immigration Online account.

Note

The immigration officer who reviews your reconsideration will not be the officer who declined your application.
