WL2.5 Lodging an application
Immigration Regulations 1999 reg 6B
- Applications for a Silver Fern Job Search visa must be tendered online using the electronic form provided on the Immigration website of the Department of Labour (www.immigration.govt.nz).
- A visa officer may consider an application where the applicant has supplied the following information in electronic form:
- their name; and
- their date of birth; and
- details of their passport or other travel document, including country of citizenship; and
- such information as is required by the electronic form to be tendered in order to determine whether the relevant visa or permit should be issued or granted.
- The applicant must also complete their application by:
- acknowledging that the details provided in support of their application are correct; and
- agreeing that if their circumstances change before a visa is issued they will notify a visa or immigration officer of that change in circumstances; and
- paying the prescribed fee for a Silver Fern Job Search visa.
- The electronic form provided on the Immigration website will only allow an application to be lodged where there are places available under the annual limit (see WL2.1).
WL2.5.1 Additional requirements for lodging applications for a Silver Fern Job Search visa

- Before determining an application, the visa officer processing it may require the applicant to:
- produce their valid passport or travel document; or
- produce evidence that they meet the requirements of the policy ; or
- produce any travel tickets or evidence of onward travel arrangements; or
- appear for an interview.
- If an applicant does not provide the additional requirements within the timeframe set by the visa officer, the application will be assessed on the available information.
