U7.15 Revocation of a student permit (24/03/2003)

Immigration Regulations 1999 reg 22

  1. A student permit holder who breaches any of the conditions of their permit (in particular those relating to attendance and employment) is liable:
    1. to have the permit revoked (see D8.10), and
    2. to be required to leave or be removed from New Zealand.
  2. Where the holder of a student permit granted under U6.38 ceases their course of study at an institution with which the New Zealand Immigration Service has an arrangement concerning the grant of visas and permits for the length of a course of study and enrols in a course of study at an institution with which the New Zealand Immigration Service does not have such an arrangement the student permit (and associated visa) will be revoked. In such cases a new application for a student permit and visa must be made in respect of the course of study and institution where the applicant intends to study.
  3. Student permits may also be revoked where the holder of a permit that was granted on the basis that they had NZAID funding has had that NZAID funding terminated.
