BI4.5 Approval of applications under the Investor Category (04/07/2005)
  1. Principal applicants under the Investor Category are assessed against:
    1. age, health, character and English language requirements; and
    2. investment funds and business experience requirements; and
    3. settlement and contribution requirements.
  2. An application under the Investor Category will be approved if:
    1. the principal applicant and family members included in the application meet health, character, and English language requirements where required; and
    2. the principal applicant meets the investment funds and business experience criteria ; and
    3. the principal applicant is 54 years or younger at the time the application is made; and
    4. the principal applicant is assessed as having the ability to successfully settle in and contribute to New Zealand; and
    5. all necessary verification of the application has been completed; and;
    6. the transfer of funds has been completed in accordance with the policy in BI7 and BI9.

BI4.5.1 Verification

  1. Business immigration specialists must be satisfied that all documents provided as evidence are genuine and accurate, and may take any steps they determine necessary to verify such documents and the information they contain.
  2. All documentation provided should be independent and verifiable to the business immigration specialist’s satisfaction.
  3. A business immigration specialist may interview, or ask another branch of the Department of Labour to interview, the principal applicant in order to determine whether or not the information provided in an application is genuine and accurate.
