RW4 Residence policy for holders of permits granted under the Priority Occupations List Work Policy

Holders of permits granted under the Priority Occupations List Work Policy may be granted a residence permit or issued a residence visa where:

they have held a work visa or permit granted or issued under the Priority Occupations List Work Policy for a period of at least 24 months; and

1. during the currency of that visa and permit they have been employed in New Zealand in an occupation included on the Priority Occupations List throughout a period of at least 24 months; and
2. they have employment with a minimum base salary of NZ$45,000 per annum that is either:
   1. in an occupation on the basis of which they were issued a work visa or granted a work permit under the Priority Occupations List Work Policy, or
   2. in an occupation that is on the Priority Occupations List at the time their application for residence is made; and
3. they are aged 55 years or under; and
4. they hold full or provisional registration, if full or provisional registration is required to practice in the occupation in which they are employed in New Zealand; and
5. they meet health and character requirements (see R4 and R5).
