C4.20 Refugee claim to be confirmed in writing in the prescribed manner
Immigration Act 1987 s 129G(2) Immigration (Refugee Processing) Regulations 1999 reg 3
- Once a claim is made, the claimant must, on request by a refugee status officer, confirm the claim in writing in the prescribed manner.
- A claim for refugee status must be:
- lodged in writing using the approved form Confirmation of Claim to Refugee Status in New Zealand; and
- completed in English; and
- signed by the claimant; and
- accompanied by:
- the name of any representative; and
- a street address, as well as a facsimile number, if appropriate, at which the claimant may be contacted; and
- a current residential address for the claimant.
