E7.40 Effect of provisions of the Prostitution Act 2003
No temporary or limited purpose visa or permit may be issued or granted in contravention of the Prostitution Act 2003. That act provides that:
- No permit may be granted to a person on the basis that they:
- Have provided, or intend to provide, commercial sexual services; or
- Have acted, or intend to act as an operator of a business of prostitution; or
- Have invested, or intends to invest, in a business of prostitution.
- It is a condition of every temporary permit or limited purpose permit that the holder may not, while in New Zealand:
- Provide commercial sexual services; or
- Act as an operator of a New Zealand business of prostitution; or
- Invest in a New Zealand business of prostitution.
- A temporary permit or limited purpose permit may be revoked if the holder does any of the things listed in (a) or (b) above.
