U7.1 Variations to allow transfers and course changes (24/03/2003)
Immigration Act 1987 s 27(7)
- Students who wish to transfer from one course to another, or from one institution to another, must apply for a variation of conditions to their student permit.
- The variation of conditions should authorise study for the period paid for, or, if the student is exempt from having to pay course fees, for the length of the new course.
- The applicant must provide evidence that they have been offered a place in the course or institution to which they wish to transfer.
- Students who have been granted a variation of conditions to their permit and who wish to travel outside New Zealand must:
- apply for a further multiple student visa, and
- pay the appropriate fee.
- Where an application is made for a variation of conditions to transfer course or institution by a person who has received NZAID (formerly ODA) funding within the two years prior to the application being made, the applicant must provide evidence that NZAID supports the transfer and that any scholarship continues.
