U2.5 When a student visa or permit is not required (26/07/1999)

Immigration Regulations 1999 Schedule 1, Part 3

A student visa or permit is not required in order to undertake:

1. any training (other than an apprenticeship or a cadetship) provided by an employer as part of the normal conditions of employment offered to the holder of a work permit (eg, routine-on-the- job training); or
2. a single course of study or training lasting not more than 3 calendar months.
