V3.75 Department of Conservation Volunteers
- Volunteers participating in the Department of Conservation's 'Conservation Volunteer' programme are not considered to be undertaking and may be issued with a standard visitor's visa or granted a standard visitor's permit.
Note: The Department of Conservation may provide sponsorship by completing a Sponsorship Form for Visiting New Zealand.
- V3.75(a) above does not apply to persons from overseas who wish to undertake training attachments in New Zealand as part of their studies (see U4.20).
- Each year, the Department of Conservation must report the following information to the NZIS National Office:
- the number of volunteers, and
- their length of stay in New Zealand, and
- the type of work they are or will be undertaking, and
- any significant developments regarding the entry of its volunteers to New Zealand, and
- any proposed changes to its volunteer programme.
