WG7.1 Requirements for the grant of a seasonal work permit (SWP) (13/03/2007)
- To be eligible for a work permit under this policy, applicants must either
- hold a valid temporary permit and be exempt from the requirement to obtain a temporary visa under New Zealand Immigration Regulations 1999 Schedule 1, Part 1B (see E2.1.5); or
- have held a valid temporary permit on 15 February 2007, and from 15 February 2007 to the date on which their application under the policy is made, continuously have held a valid temporary permit.
- To be granted a work permit under this policy applicants must also:
- meet health and character requirements set out in E6; and
- meet the requirements for set out in E5; and
- provide a completed work application form, the fee and passport; and
- provide evidence of a return ticket, or sufficient funds to purchase such a ticket; and
- provide evidence that they have a minimum of NZ$350 per month available funds for their maintenance during the period of stay in New Zealand (travellers' cheques or bank documents in the applicant’s name are acceptable).
- Evidence of an offer of employment is not required.
