WI4.60 Netherlands Working Holiday Scheme (15/11/2004)
  1. This scheme allows 700 young citizens of the Netherlands annually to be issued with multiple entry work visas, current for 12 months from the date of issue, authorising employment for a maximum of 12 months from the date of arrival.
  2. An additional 200 places (bringing the total to 900) will be available in the 2004/05 year.
  3. To be eligible for a work visa under this scheme, applicants must:
    1. be citizens of the Netherlands at the time of applying, and
    2. satisfy an NZIS visa or immigration officer that their main intention for coming to New Zealand is to holiday, and that employment is an incidental reason for the visit, and
    3. have a minimum of NZ$4,200 available funds for maintenance; and
    4. agree to hold comprehensive medical and comprehensive hospitalisation insurance that will remain current throughout their stay.
  4. Participants in the Scheme must not:
    1. engage in permanent employment; or
    2. work for the same employer for a period exceeding three months.
