WI4.115 Czech Working Holiday Scheme (01/03/2005)
- This scheme allows 100 young citizens of the Czech Republic annually to be issued with work visas authorising employment for a maximum of 12 months.
- To be eligible for a work visa under this scheme, applicants must:
- be a citizen of the Czech Republic who is permanently resident in the Czech Republic at the time of applying; and
- satisfy an NZIS visa or immigration officer that his/her main intention for coming to New Zealand is to holiday, and that employment is an incidental reason for the visit; and
- be aged between 18 and 30 years inclusive at the time of application; and
- not be accompanied by children; and
- possess a valid Czech Republic passport; and
- possess a return ticket or sufficient funds to purchase such a ticket; and
- satisfy an NZIS visa or immigration officer that he/she possesses sufficient funds for maintenance during their stay in New Zealand; and
- be of good character and comply with any health requirements for entry into New Zealand; and
- agree to hold medical and comprehensive hospitalisation insurance to remain in force throughout his/her stay in New Zealand; and
- have not benefited from the scheme previously.
- Participants in the Scheme must not;
- engage in permanent employment; or
- work for the same employer for a period exceeding three months.
- Participants in the Scheme may engage in one training or study course of up to three months duration during the course of their visit to New Zealand.
