Bachelors degrees requiring 3 or more years of full time study from the following institutions are assessed as occupying Category B Level 7 of the Qualifications Table and will therefore be awarded 10 points.
Masters degrees (except Honorary degrees from the University of Cambridge, the University of Oxford and Masters degrees which are a first degree from Scottish institutions) and PhDs from the following institutions are assessed as occupying Category A Level 8 of the Qualifications Table and will therefore be awarded 12 points, provided the holder of the qualification also obtained their undergraduate (Bachelors) degree from an institution included on the List of Recognised Qualifications. If the Masters degree is not preceded by an undergraduate degree from an institution included on the List of Recognised Qualifications, it is assessed as occupying Category B Level 7 of the Qualifications Table and will therefore be awarded 10 points.
Honours degrees from the following institutions are assessed as occupying Category B Level 7 of the Qualifications Table and will therefore be awarded 10 points unless a NZQA Qualifications Assessment Report assesses them as occupying Category A Level 7 of the Qualifications Table in which case 11 points will be awarded.
Graduate and post-graduate diplomas require a NZQA assessment for points allocation.

Social Work Qualifications
The Certificate in Social Work (CQSW), the Certificate in Social Service (CSS) or the replacement Diploma in Social Work (DipSW) awarded by the Central Council for Education and Training in Social Work (CCETSW), London, are assessed as Category C Level 5 and will be awarded 10 points.
Trade Qualifications
The City and Guilds Part One and Part Two Certificates named below, together with evidence of a completed apprenticeship registered with a recognised industry body, are assessed as occupying Category D Level 4 of the Qualifications Table and will therefore be awarded 10 points.
Note: Visa and immigration officers must ensure that the Part Two Certificate is a full qualification (usually three components). Individual components of the Part Two qualification may be separately certificated. Most full Part Two certificates require completion of three components.
Other Trade qualifications not listed below require assessment by the NZQA.
