I1.1 Grant of an interim visa (07/02/2011)

  1. An interim visa may be granted to a person who:
    1. holds a temporary visa; and
    2. has applied for a further temporary visa; and
    3. is in New Zealand.
  2. An interim visa cannot be applied for.
  3. Interim visas may be granted by electronic means (see E3.5.1(b)).

Note: Interim visas may only be granted to people who hold temporary visas. A person holding another type of temporary entry class visa, or a visa of another class, is not eligible for an interim visa. E.g. A limited visa holder is not eligible for an interim visa.
