U9.10 Religious trainees (02/12/2013)

1. Foreign students accepted for training in New Zealand to prepare them for entry to religious orders or the ministry are generally trained at one of the following institutions:
   • College of St John the Evangelist (Anglican and Methodist)
   • Knox College (Presbyterian)
   • Holy Cross Seminary (Catholic).
2. Such students may be granted a student visa for the requested period.
3. Applicants must provide:
   1. written confirmation of a place, and
   2. a guarantee of accommodation, maintenance and repatriation by the sponsoring church for the length of the programme of study, and
   3. if the student is undertaking university programme of study, evidence of an offer of a place from the university and evidence that the tuition fees have been paid.
4. Applications for further visas must meet the same requirements as in paragraph (c) above and be supported by both the religious organisation and the training provider.
