BN5 English Language requirements

1. Principal applicants under the Active Investor Plus visa category meet the minimum standard of English if they provide:
   1. acceptable English language test results no more than two years old at the time the application is lodged, as set out in BN5.1, obtained by sitting the test in person at a test centre (tests taken remotely outside of a test centre, including ‘at home’ tests, are not acceptable); or
   2. evidence of an English-speaking background as set out in BF2.1; or
   3. other evidence which satisfies a business immigration specialist that, taking account of that evidence and all the circumstances of the application, the person meets the minimum standard of English (see BF2.5).
2. Applications must be declined if the principal applicant does not meet the minimum standard of English.
