Step 1: Provide a job offer
You will need to provide either an employment agreement or a contract for services that is for skilled employment.

Step 2: Candidate applies for a resident visa
Your candidate will need to complete a 'Residence Application' and send it to us together with a copy of their employment agreement or contract for services detailing the skilled employment you have offered.
For us to process their visa application, they must send us information about the work they will be doing for you. For example, an employment agreement or an offer of a place.

Step 3: Wait for a decision
We make a decision about your candidate's application as soon as we can. You can view our historic visa timeframes below.
If your candidate is already in New Zealand, we may ask for more information about your recruitment process, the position or the sustainability of the position.

Step 4: Employee starts work
As soon as your candidate has been granted a visa, they can come to New Zealand and start working for you.
You have to make sure the people who work for you have the right to work in New Zealand.

Put together information to help them settle into your workplace and life in New Zealand.From the first contact with your new employee to the time they arrive in New Zealand, be positive but realistic.
