R6.10 Points systems (30/08/2002)
Applications in the General Skills and Investor categories are assessed under a points system.
R6.10.1 Fail marks
- In order to qualify for residence, in the General Skills and Investor categories must first exceed an automatic fail mark under a points system and also meet the passmark current at the time the application is .
- The General Skills Category fail mark is always one mark below the passmark applying on the date on which the application is made. Principal applicants who do not have a points allocation equal to or greater than the passmark applying on the date on which their application is made must be declined.
- The Investor Category fail mark is 11 points and principal applicants who score 11 points or below must be declined.
R6.10.5 Passmarks
- From July 2002 onwards the passmark for General Skills Category applications will be reviewed on a monthly basis.
- The passmark applying to a General Skills Category application or a Business Investor Category application is the passmark applying on the date on which the application is made.
- For General Skills Category applications made from and including 9 September 2002 the passmark is 29 points.
- The passmark for the Investor Category within the Skilled/Business stream is 12 points.
- Applications with a points allocation equal to, or greater than, the passmark, which have met health and character requirements policy, are eligible to be approved in principle subject to other policy requirements being met.
R6.10.10 Programmed approvals
The passmark for General Skills Category applications is calculated to enable the Skilled/Business stream allocation to be approximately met.
