S1.41 Residual Pacific Access Category Places Policy (15/11/2004)
  1. If the annual quota of places available for each country under the Pacific Access Category is not filled by applicants drawn from the ballots, the NZIS will call for residence applications from applicants who:
    1. are citizens of the countries that have unfilled places; and
    2. are lawfully in New Zealand at the time their application for residence is made; and
    3. have an acceptable offer of employment, or have a partner, included in the application, who has an acceptable offer of employment (see S1.40.30); and
    4. are aged between 18 and 45 inclusive; and
    5. meet a minimum level of English language ability (see S1.40.40); and
    6. meet the minimum income requirement (see S1.40.35) if they have dependants; and
    7. meet health and character requirements.
  2. Partners and dependent children included in applications under the Pacific Access Category (and non-accompanying family members required to submit medical and X-ray certificates in terms of R2.40(d) effective 4 April 2005) must meet health requirements policy (see A4).
  3. Partners and dependent children included in applications under the Pacific Access Category must meet character requirements (see A5).
  4. Applications will only be accepted if sent to the designated receiving office in New Zealand on the form Application for Residence in New Zealand (NZIS 1000).
  5. Applications that are lodged in the prescribed manner (that meet all mandatory lodgement requirements) will be processed in the order in which they are received. If more applications are received than there are places to fill, the additional applications will be accepted and processed first if there are further places to fill in a subsequent period.
