N3.10 Requirements for lodging an application
N3.10.1 Mandatory requirements
Immigration Act 1987 s 14E Immigration Regulations 1999 reg 8(1)
Applications must be completed in full and submitted to a visa officer, together with:
- the applicant's current passport or travel document, and
- one passport-sized photograph of the applicant, and
- the appropriate fee, and
- travel tickets or evidence of onward travel arrangements relating to the relevant journey, and
- a confirmed travel itinerary including relevant arrival and departure times, and
- a statement of the purpose of the journey to the country of destination, and
- any other documents the applicant considers show that the applicant is a genuine transit passenger.
N3.10.5 Additional requirements
Immigration Regulations 1999 reg 8(2)
Before determining the application, the visa officer processing it may require the applicant to:
- produce any other photographs, documents and information the officer thinks necessary to help determine the application; and
- appear before a visa officer for an interview.
