BG3.1 Requirements for the grant of a permanent resident visa

The holder of a visa granted under the Global Impact work visa instructions may be granted a permanent resident visa if they:

  1. have held a Global Impact work visa for a period of at least 30 months; and
  2. have complied with the conditions of that visa; and
  3. have confirmation from the provider that they will be supported by the provider for any remaining duration of the Global Impact visa programme; and
  4. meet health and character requirements (see A4 and A5); and
  5. continue to meet ‘fit and proper’ person requirements (see BM1); and
  6. have not, at any time since the grant of their visa, applied for, or been granted welfare assistance under the Social Security Act 1964.
