S4.40 Ukraine Resident Visa
S4.40.1 Objective
The Ukraine Resident Visa provides a residence pathway for those who arrived in New Zealand via the 2022 Special Ukraine Visa category and have since settled here.
S4.40.5 Overview
Applications for residence under the Ukraine Resident Visa category must be made on an approved application form. Applications will be approved if the principal applicant holds a 2022 Special Ukraine Visa and all other requirements at S4.40.15 are met.

- Applications for residence under the Ukraine Resident Visa category must be made in the prescribed manner (see R2).
- Applications must be made on the Ukraine Resident Visa application form (INZ 1382).
- Applications must be made on or before 16 March 2026.
S4.40.15 Determining a Ukraine Resident Visa application
A Ukraine Resident Visa may be granted if an immigration officer is satisfied that:
- all applicants meet the health and character requirements for residence (A4 and A5); and
- the principal applicant holds a visa granted under the 2022 Special Ukraine Visa category; and
- the principal applicant arrived in New Zealand holding a 2022 Special Ukraine Visa on or before 15 March 2024.
Notes: - Secondary applicants may be included in the application even if they did not enter New Zealand on or before 15 March 2024. - The principal applicant can be someone who was previously a secondary applicant in a 2022 Special Ukraine Visa application (see H8 instructions), provided they arrived in New Zealand by 15 March 2024.
