BK8.35 Evidence of the principal applicant's active investment (26/11/2007)

In the case of active investment, additional evidence is required that must include documentation from a reliable independent professional (for example, a solicitor or chartered accountant).

  1. For existing businesses, the following evidence must be provided:
    1. the date the shareholding in the business was purchased; and
    2. a full valuation of the business; and
    3. documentary evidence that demonstrates the operation of the business (eg, annual accounts); and
    4. the full name(s) of the business owner(s).
  2. For new businesses, the following evidence must be provided:
    1. the date the business was established; and
    2. documentation demonstrating the establishment of the business; and
    3. the full name(s) of the business owner(s).
  3. If the principal applicant has purchased a shareholding in, or has established more than, one business this information should be provided for each of the businesses.
  4. A business immigration specialist, at their discretion, may require any other form of evidence.
