E2.26 Sportspeople representing Fiji (27/07/2000)
- Visa or immigration officers must not issue or grant temporary visas or permits to sportspeople representing Fiji or Fijian national and/or Fijian club teams at all levels who are applying to enter New Zealand temporarily for the purpose of such representation.
- Sportspeople who are coming as individuals and do not represent Fiji or a Fijian national or club team are not subject to (a) and may be considered for temporary entry to New Zealand under appropriate temporary entry policy (see V3.85 and W3.55).
- For the purpose of this policy sportspeople includes:
- people taking part in sporting competitions at all levels;
- people training for sporting competitions at all levels in New Zealand;
- sports administrators representing Fiji in a sports administration role; and
- coaches and other personnel associated with sportspeople.
