W3.40 Research and post-doctoral fellows (26/07/1999)
- People awarded a senior fellowship or post-doctoral fellowship to undertake research at a New Zealand university, government department or research institute may be issued with work visas authorising permits for the length of the fellowship, up to a maximum of 3 years.
- Researchers whose initial fellowship is extended may be granted a further work permit authorising employment for a maximum of 3 years from the date of their arrival in New Zealand.
- Visa and immigration officers must sight evidence of the applicant's fellowship.
